We live in a world that spotlights self-improvement, goal setting, and becoming your “best self.” And those things matter. But sometimes we forget one of the most powerful catalysts for growth:
Your brain’s “happy juice” is real, and it responds to simple, human moments. A six-second hug. Learning something new. Connection plus insight. Both help you feel steadier and more confident, especially when life feels uncertain or in transition.
Here’s the thing: small groups offer something uniquely supportive. They create space to learn and connect without the intense focus of being “worked on.” You get to show up as you are, listen, share, reflect, and realize you’re not the only one navigating murky waters.
Two Saturdays ago, I hosted a two-hour session for women in transition, specifically midlife and empty nesting. The balance of new information, conversation, and reflection created what I can only describe as an ambient temperature of goodness. A space to be open. To test ideas. To generate insights. To ask questions we don’t often say out loud.
